Is a solar power system worthwhile?
An electricity price increase is expected at the end of 2026 or early 2027. The more expensive electricity gets, the faster the system pays for itself.
The payback period depends on your consumption, roof orientation and system size, and in Serbia above all on your tariff zone. In the blue and red zones every kWh from the system replaces much more expensive electricity than in the green zone.
The payback period is the price of the system divided by the annual saving on your electricity bill.
Below is a worked example for a household in Belgrade, calculated with the same model our solar calculator uses. The calculator gives you a more precise estimate for your own house.

free - uncomplicated - precise - non-binding

7,200 kWh per year, recommended 3.15 kWp
Production about 3,811 kWh per year
3.15 kWp 7 modules
Production about 3,811 kWh per year
The electricity bill without the system is about RSD 101,754 per year.
With the system it is about RSD 54,426 per year, a saving of about RSD 47,328.
Estimate, not an offer.
The estimate assumes EPS tariffs from 01/10/2025, PVGIS yield (cached data) and 55% of consumption during the day. The system price is converted to dinars at the NBS middle rate of 05/08/2026.
Our indicative price for a family house system is RSD 616,000 for 5 kWp to RSD 880,000 for 10 kWp, incl. installation, as a final price, converted at the NBS middle rate of 05/08/2026.
Grid electricity gets more expensive the more you use. EPS higher (daytime) tariff prices, excl. VAT and excise, valid from 01.10.2025:

The system replaces daytime electricity at the higher tariff. Net metering carries summer surplus over to the following months, and whatever is left on 31 March is cancelled without payment. That is why we size the system to your consumption.
